These pictures show the fixture as a whole. On the left is a picture with a test unit in place and on the right, the fixture is open and ready for a new unit to be inserted. For this project, I led the development of the fixture, selected components, and wrote the software.

The large L-shaped section that is attached to the unit under test had to be balanced to prevent any torque from being applied from gravity.

The shape of the plate attached to the loadcell allowed for free movement of the unit under test then when the actuator pushed up the system engaged the loadcell.

The user interface for the fixture I designed to be easily more easily used than the predecessor which was command prompt based. It was designed to show the status of the test at a glance as well as being usable with minimal training.
